Outdoor Activities in the Dolomites

Lace up your walking boots, strap on your skis, or hop on your bike. In the Puster Valley, sport, nature, and culture all lie at your feet, in including traces of the ancient Romans, mountaineering legend Reinhold Messner, and some of the most beautiful corners of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site. We must admit that one holiday is simply not enough.

Hiking & cycling: Mountains, mountains, and more mountains

You can set off straight from Wildberg: the archaeological trail tells the story of the Romans; the Klosterwald Circular Trail leads through cool woods, and Haidenberg beckons with Kaiserschmarrn and summit views. Cyclists can hop onto the Puster Valley Cycle Path. It’s so beautiful that you’ll want to cycle all the way to Austria.

Skiing at Kronplatz (Plan de Corones): Powder snow in 10 minutes

One minute you’re eating breakfast at the campsite, and ten minutes later, you’re at the lift. Kronplatz (Plan de Corones), South Tyrol’s number one ski mountain, is just 3 km from Wildberg. In the evenings, put your wet gear in the drying room and skis and boots in the heated ski storage and head to the sauna. If that isn’t a winter fairy tale, what is?

Places to visit: Bruneck (Brunico), the Drei Zinnen (Tre Cime di Lavaredo) & more

Smile for the camera because the most beautiful photo spots await! Bruneck (Brunico) is just around the corner, the Messner Mountain Museum tells mountain stories, and the Drei Zinnen (Tre Cime di Lavaredo) are only an hour away.

‘Up to the summit in the morning, into the swimming pool in the evening. In between, the mountains, the silence, the happiness’.
