celiacdisease is a chronic nutritional disturbance caused by the inability to metabolize most kinds of cereals. In South Tyrol it is very common (1:300 inhabitants). It results in more or less pronounced disorders and can be treated with a special life-long diet, so that the patient can heal completely.
